Over the busy weekend, I’ve still managed to create two new ink cards, both based on ancient stone sculptures. They are also both ink on 5″ x 7″ 140 lb. Cold Press paper.

The first is a gargoyle, based on one that I have here in my office. I’m having fun toying with the close-up ideas on these, and this one is no exception. It’s based on the same gargoyle that I did previously (it’s on my “art for sale” page), but much closer and with a black background. I call it Gargoyle Dream.

The second ink card is of an ancient lion sculpture, and has a different texture than some of the others have. It was a fun one to try, and as always is a great learning experience. I call this one The Lion Ruin.

As always, let me know what you think of it.

I’m getting very interested in trying more art based on history, architecture, and ancient art. I’m hoping to try some larger acrylic paintings soon with that idea in mind, though we’ll see how it works out.
