I’m not sure how many people even remember the film The Elephant Man. It was made in the early 80’s, and for me had a great quality to it. Director David Lynch certainly was a lot of that, especially with his early, unique style. But it’s an actor’s film too, especially with the main part of Merrick himself as portrayed by John Hurt.

I thought it would be a fun experiment in movie poster design, so I set to it. As with most of my film poster designs, I also ran it though Photoshop, so below are the vector and raster versions.

Of course, I have to mention that I am in no way affiliated with the studio, the filmmakers, or even my brain most of the time. So, don’t sue me folks.

Here’s the vector version, click on it (and the other) for a larger version:

Here’s the Photoshopped version, with a bit of texture to it. I toyed with it for awhile, with different ideas. In the end, I thought that keeping it simple, with just a little flair, was the way to go. As always, let me know what you think of them.
